Rear Cross-Traffic Alert System(RCTA)
A RCTA System is a safety feature designed to help drivers avoid collisions while reversing, particularly when backing out of parking spaces or driveways. The system uses radar or sensors to detect vehicles, cyclists, or pedestrians approaching from the sides at the rear of the vehicle. When cross-traffic is detected, RCTA issues visual, audible, or haptic warnings, such as beeping or a vibration in the seat, to alert the driver. This system helps increase awareness and prevent accidents in situations where rear visibility is limited.
